Every guest-camera company, priced side by side
Six companies sell some version of “your guests film it, we edit it.” Prices run from free to $1,199. Recorderly is $595 for two 4K cameras, $795 for four, and $395 to edit footage you already have. The cheapest real option in the category is YOUfilm at $349, though that tier includes no edit. The fastest is Handheld Studio at about two weeks. We are the only one that ships a wireless microphone with every camera.
All of it sits against a US wedding videographer at a $2,300 national average — which is what every company on this page, including us, is really competing with.

What a videographer costs near you
Videographer pricing is regional. This is the number a guest-camera kit is really measured against where you are.
Regional averages from The Knot Real Weddings Study, 2025 data, 10,474 US couples. Your region is detected from your connection and will be wrong for a destination wedding — set it yourself above. The Knot publishes the six regions but not the states in them; the groupings above are ours.

Recorderly vs Handheld Studio
They rent camcorders one at a time and turn the film around in two weeks. We ship four cameras for less than their two.

Audio is the real gap
- Every company here ships cameras with onboard mics only. Recorderly is the exception, with a free wireless clip-on mic per camera.
- A camcorder across a loud room shows you a speech. It does not let you hear one.
- This is the single most common regret we hear about guest-filmed video, and it is the cheapest thing to fix.
Raw footage is priced three ways
- LuvFilm and Handheld Studio include it. Recorderly charges $195. Symboll charges $600 for a Dropbox link that expires.
- A four-camera event produces a few hundred gigabytes, which is miserable to pull down over home wifi.
- Ours arrives as a 1TB drive in the mail with the edited film on it. More on that.
Turnaround is where we lose
- Handheld Studio delivers in about two weeks, LuvFilm in two to three. Recorderly takes three to four.
- We removed our paid rush option, so there is no way to buy the difference back.
- Set against a videographer’s three to six months, all of these are fast.
What people ask before booking any of these
What is the cheapest way to get a wedding video?
A guest-upload app like POV.camera is free for small events, but it does not produce a film. The cheapest way to get an actual edited film is an editing-only package from footage your guests already shot: Recorderly charges $395, LuvFilm charges $597. If you want cameras shipped, YOUfilm's $349 tier is the lowest price in the category, though it includes no edit.
How much does a guest camera kit cost?
Between $349 and $1,199 depending on the company and the number of cameras. Two-camera kits run $499 to $997. Four-camera kits run roughly $750 to $1,095. Recorderly is $595 for two and $795 for four, with a wireless mic included on each camera.
Are guest cameras cheaper than a wedding videographer?
Substantially. The Knot's Real Weddings Study puts the US average videographer at $2,300, with the upper quarter at $3,300 and above; Zola reports $3,993. A four-camera guest kit at $795 is roughly a third of the national average.
Do any of these companies include microphones?
Only Recorderly, as of August 2026. Every other guest-camera company in this comparison ships cameras that record on their onboard mics, which is why speeches are the most common complaint about guest-filmed video. Recorderly includes a free wireless clip-on mic with every camera.
Which company delivers the film fastest?
Handheld Studio at roughly two weeks, then LuvFilm at two to three. Recorderly and Edit Your Wedding are three to four weeks. A traditional videographer commonly takes three to six months, which is the real turnaround comparison worth making.
Do guest cameras replace a videographer?
They replace one if you were not going to hire one anyway. They do not guarantee that anyone films the ceremony, which is the one thing a professional does guarantee. If any single moment has to be covered properly, hire someone for it and use guest cameras for everything around it.
Which companies include the raw footage?
LuvFilm and Handheld Studio include it in the price. Recorderly sells it as a $195 add-on that arrives as a 1TB drive with the edited film and every original clip sorted by camera. Symboll charges $600 for raw files by Dropbox with a two-month download window.
